Our bodies are, in the words of St. Paul, “temples of the Living Spirit”.  At St. Peter’s, we are committed to teaching healthy living and care for our physical bodies.  We are a Non-Smoking campus.  We serve tasty but healthy foods at Fellowship following worship  (in other words, no Krispy Kreme donuts!).  On Wednesday afternoons, Litchfield Park Organics sells wonderful organic produce.  From time to time we have classes on healthy cooking, the importance of nutrition for children and yoga.

Yoga

Yoga for fitness?  Yes! Plus a whole bunch more.  Yoga not only improves your physical health, but your mental and emotional health as well.  We are often overworked and stressed.  Yoga provides techniques for reducing stress.

Do I have to be flexible to practice yoga?  No. Anyone can practice yoga, and unlike many sports and other exercise programs there is no competition in yoga.  You have already succeeded just by practicing yoga.  And the good news is that you will gain flexibility, confidence, and inner peace by practicing yoga.

What if I have an injury or other limitations?  In most cases the yoga poses can be modified to fit your needs.  This is why anyone can practice yoga.  However, it is important that you talk with your yoga instructor prior to the class to inform the instructor of your limitations.

What do I bring to a yoga class?  Wear comfortable clothing, something that you can move freely in, and water.  Try not to eat anything heavy at least two hours prior to class. Questions? Call (623) 935-3279 / email office@stpetersaz.com
