Litchfield Park & Avondale Campus

Teachers

St. Peter’s has undergone some changes in staff. We have a new A.M.I. trained Director with 22 years of experience in accredited schools. Her commitment to A.M.I. standards is unwavering and her goal is to work towards accreditation for St. Peter’s. In addition, she has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and a strong interest in the Arts. Her Level 1 Orff Schulwerk music and movement training is an added bonus in the classroom.

The support staff include an A.M.S. trained teacher and an assistant. Teacher Marlene Freda instituted the first Montessori school in Coral Springs, Florida, in 1991. Her school received seven consecutive Broward County Gold Seal Awards of Excellence. In addition to her Montessori Certification, she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services from the University of Phoenix. In addition, she has had special training in working with students with autism. Marlene’s enthusiasm and her love of teaching her students is contagious.

The assistant’s duties include the reading to and being read to by the children, maintenance of the materials and the environment and helping the children in very specific ways. Ms. Bretthauer will assume these responsibilities.

Ms. Mazzocco, the Lead Teacher at the Avondale campus, received her AMI Montessori training from the Ohio Montessori Training Institute. Her deep knowledge and appreciation of Maria Montessori has allowed her to make unique contributions to our classroom. She has over 20 years of experience in the Montessori classroom.

Ms. Mazzocco is assisted by Ms. Foster who has recently completed a B.S. degree and brings a variety of technical and interpersonal skills to the classroom. Her skills range from textile designer to Master Gardener. She has created craft programs and demonstrated and helped children create spinning and weaving projects. We anticipate her gardening skills will be put to excellent use on both campuses. Adelita Gonzales is the new assistant.

Adelita has experience with kindergarten through high school students in the Avondale area. She loves children and is interested in the arts and crafts.
