Prayer is the center of our life at St. Peter's. We pray our joys and sorrows; our anxieties, angers and frustrations, and, of course, our blessings. Our Chapel is open day and night (24/7) for anyone who wants to just come and pray.
Frequently, you will find two or three of us gathered in a home, a coffee house, on a hike, or at the church with our Book of Common Prayer for Morning or Evening Devotions. One of our Prayer Ministers is scheduled at every worship service, and holds the congregation in prayer throughout the service. For those who desire prayers for themselves or someone dear, the Prayer Minister is available during communion or after the service. All prayer is held in strictest confidentiality.
Every Sunday, from 5:00-6:00PM, some of us gather around the altar for Group Meditation. Spending an hour in silence is how we learn to quiet our minds and listen to God. Those new to meditation are invited to come at 4:45PM for instruction.
In addition to our Chapel and Sanctuary, St. Peter's also has two very sacred spaces for prayer and meditation - a Meditation Garden right next to the Courtyard, and a Memorial Garden just to the east of the sanctuary. Take a break from the activity of life just to come and sit for a while. Plans are in the works for Labyrinth at St. Peter's.
Our OASIS Spiritual Directors/Coaches are available by appointment to offer support in cultivating a personal prayer/meditation practice. Visit our OASIS page for more information or contact the church office.
