Community of Hope International
Do you ever wonder how best to be of comfort to those who are suffering? At St. Peter’s our Community of Hope International group offers a 13-session training program for lay persons to become involved in pastoral care. We learn to truly listen, to care for ourselves while caring for others, to live balanced and fruitful lives. Our training is anchored in Benedictine Spirituality, focused on developing a way of life and attitude of mind that nurtures our souls and those of others.
When training is completed, members choose what type of service they would like to be involved with. Whether it’s with people confined to home, hospital, or care facility, outreach to the homeless, those who are underserved or in prison, to the youth or elderly, etc., opportunities abound! A built-in support group, called Circle of Care, meets once a month to share a meal, camaraderie, experiences, and our faith.
