Serving the Homeless: I-Help, Family Promise
Twelve Volunteers are needed to provide a Friday dinner and Saturday breakfast two times a year for our guests, approximately 8-12 people who are a part of the Homeless Emergency Lodging Program. We provide shelter, showers, meals and a listening ear. While meals are important, we also see and recognize our guests as our brothers and sisters as we are called to do. Won’t you please help us to see and recognize people who are often-times invisible in society by breaking bread and be a listening presence.
Serving New Mother’s: Baby Gift Ministry
This is a two part ministry opportunity which gives at-risk moms needed newborn supplies. It also provides Perryville Inmates community service hours for completing hand-crafted baby sweaters or blankets for the Baby Gift Ministry which benefit Crisis Pregnancy Centers in the West Valley. Newborn Kits are assembled of essential baby items with an hand-crafted item donated by the ‘Comfy Crochet’ yarn group of Perryville .
Donation Needs: newborn disposable diapers, wipes, shampoo, soap, lotion, nail kits, new or gently used baby clothing or toys. Yarn for the Perryville women to use for hand-crafted items is also appreciated. Donations can be dropped off in the narthex at St. Peter’s.
